The proposed restrictions sought to mitigate the impact of potentially obstructive on-street parking on and around the junctions.
It was also necessary to extend the existing waiting restrictions on Main Street to maintain adequate access and turning space for large agricultural vehicles and prevent footway parking outside Long Whatton Primary School and Community Centre.
The proposals also include implementing a Bus Stop Clearway on Main Street.
The proposed restrictions sought to benefit the safety for all road users in this location and the scheme was proposed on the grounds of road safety.

To implement No Waiting At Any Times Restrictions on Main Street, Green Lane and Mill Lane, Long Whatton.

On behalf of Severn Trent Water, due to the installation of street lighting, it was necessary to impose a de-restriction to the National Speed Limit (Street Lighting located within the existing National Speed Limit) on Appleby Lane, Snarestone.
The proposed de-restriction was intended to provide a safe highway environment.

To de-restrict the National Speed Limit (Street Lighting located within the existing National Speed Limit) on Appleby Lane, Snarestone.

A number of speed limit Traffic Regulation Orders (TRO) have been identified to be outdated and incorrect, and therefore a new TRO was required to correct these anomalies. Several locations were also identified where a 30mph Speed Limit has been designated as 30mph by street lighting when there was no street lighting present, which made the 30mph Speed Limit invalid and not legal. Therefore, a TRO and signage was required to make the 30mph Speed Limit legal and enforceable.
As a result of this review, the Council assessed mean speeds within villages where a new TRO and signage were required, and therefore, the Council proposed a self-enforcing 20mph Speed Limit within the following villages: Hallaton, Lowesby, Owston, Burton Overy, Illston on the Hill and Foxton. No other villages within the Harborough District met this criteria.

To implement 30mph and 20mph Speed Limits at various locations within the Harborough District.

On behalf of the developer and following the construction of the housing development along Desford Lane, Ratby, it was necessary to reduce part of the existing National Speed Limit (60mph) and introduce a 40mph Speed Limit on Desford Lane.
The proposed 40mph Speed Limit was intended to improve safety for access and egress at the new development and provide a safe highway environment.
This scheme was proposed on the grounds of road safety.

To implement a 40mph Speed Limit on Desford Lane, Ratby.

This scheme was proposed to keep the junctions of Edelin Road and Park Road, Park Road and Park Avenue and Park Road and Shelthorpe Road, Loughborough, clear of parked vehicles to maintain visibility at these junctions.

To implement No Waiting At Any Time restrictions at the junctions of Edelin Road and Park Road, Park Road and Park Avenue and Park Road and Shelthorpe Road, Loughborough.

This scheme was proposed to keep the junction of Park Road and Parklands Drive, Loughborough, clear of parked vehicles to maintain visibility at the junction.

To implement No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions at the junction of Parklands Drive and Park Road, Loughborough

Following concerns over parking, this scheme was proposed to make it safer for drivers to pull into the junction.

To extend the No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions along Cowdray Close, Loughborough

The scheme was proposed to keep the junction of Watermead Lane and Nanpantan Road, Loughborough, clear of parked vehicles to maintain visibility at the junction.

To implement No Waiting At Any Time restrictions on the junction of Watermead Lane and Nanpantan Road, Loughborough.

This order was made to rectify an anomaly between what was on the ground and what was on the background mapping. There would be no changes made to the waiting restrictions on the ground.

Correction of an anomaly with the Residents Permit Holders Only/Partial Footway Parking on Cartwright Street, Loughborough.

Parking by visitors to Anstey Nomads Football Club occurs along Cropston Road and on King Williams Way, Anstey.at the weekend and at times on weekdays in the evening.
This parking creates an obstruction for through traffic and was a hazard, reducing forward visibility of oncoming traffic and visibility of pedestrians.

To implement No Waiting At Any Time restrictions on Cropston Road, Anstey.

The County Council proposed to introduce Mandatory School Keep-Clear Markings outside the entrances to South Charnwood High School, Broad Lane, Markfield. The Markings were advertised due to concerns raised with the School and County Council regarding vehicles parking closely to the school entrance, which were restricting visibility and creating a dangerous environment for children entering and exiting the School.
Existing Markings are present at the School entrance, and vehicles will be restricted from parking where new markings are implemented. Restrictions were proposed, between Monday to Friday 8am – 4pm. In addition to the Mandatory School Keep Clear Markings, No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions were also proposed to limit the amount of parking within close proximity of the School gates, to create a safe highway environment allowing for safe passage for all its users.

To implement Mandatory School Keep Clear Markings and No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions outside South Charnwood High School, Broad Lane, Markfield.

There has been a Temporary Order for a 7.5T weight limit on Bridge Number 333 on Great Central Road, Loughborough over the Great Central Railway, and this order was to make it permanent.

A further competition under 'Road Marking, Surfacing and Traffic Management DPS - 772 / Category 2: Supply and installation providers for road marking, surfacing, removal products and equipment', was recently tendered, and after a fully compliant evaluation, Velocity UK Limited were the highest scoring tenderers.

These restrictions are aimed at improving visibility at the Albert Promenade junctions with Lime Avenue, Finsbury Avenue and Elms Grove, Loughborough and King Edward Road at its junction with Lime Avenue, Loughborough, to ensure the safer egress from them.

A further competition under DPS 1154 – Civil Engineering Works and Services Category 1: Road and Highway Infrastructure, was recently tendered, and after a fully compliant evaluation, ABM Precast Solutions limited were the highest scoring tenderers.

To appoint ABM Precast Solutions Limited to the tendered contract: ST0581 Broughton Astley Deck Replacement Scheme - Manufacture of Precast Concrete Deck Slab Units.

The County Council proposed a new Toucan Crossing on Desford Lane on behalf of a developer. Following the construction of the housing development along Desford Lane, Ratby, the Toucan Crossing provides connectivity for both pedestrians and cyclists from the new development to the Medical Centre and Ratby village centre.

A further competition under Road Marking, Surfacing and Traffic Management DPS - 772 / Category 2: Supply and installation providers for road marking, surfacing, removal products and equipment, was recently tendered, and after a fully compliant evaluation, Allroads Asphalt Solutions Limited were the highest scoring tenderers.

The Council made the following order on behalf of the developer, Hazelton Homes (Midlands) Ltd, to introduce No Waiting At Any Time restrictions on St Mary’s Road, Market Harborough.
Due to the new access road serving The Welland Quarter residential development, it is necessary to revoke the existing Limited Waiting Parking Bays (2 hours, no return within 1 hour, Monday – Saturday 8am-6pm, except for resident’s parking permit holders) and replace them with No Waiting At Any Time restrictions. These changes are required to ensure safe and unobstructed access to and from the new development.
The introduction of No Waiting At Any Time restrictions at the following locations: Old School Mews at its junction with Fairfield Road, Market Harborough, to prevent obstructive parking at the junction and ensure visibility is maintained for pedestrians and motorists; and Fairfield Road, Market Harborough, to remove the existing advisory protective entrance marking (H-Bar) and introduce No Waiting At Any Time restrictions along the on-carriageway cycle lane section. This will ensure the route remains unobstructed and accessible for cyclists.
This scheme is being introduced on the grounds of road safety.

To implement No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions and the Revocation of Limited Waiting Bays on St Mary's Road, Market Harborough, and to implement No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions on Old School Mews and Fairfield Road, Market Harborough.

The restrictions are to enable the enforcement against footway parking to keep the crossing clear of obstructions.
To enhance road safety, No Waiting At Any Time restrictions were required on the junctions of Side Ley, Kegworth. The affected locations include Frederick Avenue at its junction with Side Ley, Borrowell at its junction with Side Ley and Nottingham Road at its junctions with Side Ley and Station Road. These measures provide essential junction protection, prevent obstructive parking and ensure the safer passage for all road users.
The Nottingham Road bus stop will become a clearway to prevent obstructive parking and ensure safe passenger access. This scheme is being introduced specifically to enhance road safety for all users.

To implement No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions on Side Ley at the junctions with Borrowell, Frederick Avenue, Nottingham Road and Station Road, Kegworth.

An open tender was recently completed, and after a fully compliant evaluation Smith Bros (Caer Conan) Wholesale Ltd were the highest scoring bidder.

To appoint Smith Bros (Caer Conan) Wholesale Ltd to the tendered contract: Street Lighting and Signage Supplies_2026.

To improve pupil safety by implementing Mandatory School Keep Clear Markings, highlighting areas that must remain clear Monday to Friday, 8am–4pm on Parkstone Road, Syston; Barrow Road, Burton on the Wolds; and Elmfield Avenue, Birstall.
After concerns from Syston Town Council, a Mandatory Disabled Parking Bay with a 3 hour limit (no return within 1 hour) on Melton Road to improve access for disabled users.
To improve amenity, the Maximum Stay in the Limited Waiting Bays on Cross Green, Rothley extended from 1 hour to 2 hours, no return within 1 hour, following concerns from local businesses and Rothley Parish Council.
An irregularity in the original Traffic Regulation Order for Bath Street, Syston requires a reduction in length of the No Waiting At Any Time restriction.
To reduce obstructive parking and improve visibility, new No Waiting At Any Time restrictions at: Sarson Street, at its junction with Loughborough Road, Quorn; Ashfield Drive, at its junction with Groby Road, Anstey; Park Road, at its junction with School House Close, Anstey; Peppers Close, at its junction with Loughborough Road, Mountsorrel; Martin Drive, at its entry/exit to its roundabout junction with Glebe Way, Syston.
Following concerns from a Member of Parliament, to improve safety of school children by implementing School Keep Clear restrictions on Elmfield Avenue, Birstall. These to apply Monday to Friday 8am to 4pm. Also to implement No Waiting At Any Time restrictions on the curvature of bend on where Elmfield Avenue meets Fielding Road, to reduce obstructive parking and ensure safe egress for all road users.

To implement various parking restrictions in the Borough of Charnwood as follows:
To install Mandatory School Keep Clear Monday to Friday 8am–4pm Markings on Parkstone Road, Syston; Barrow Road, Burton on the Wolds; and Elmfield Avenue, Birstall.
