A previous Officer Decision Record was approved to appoint another organisation. Unfortunately, that organisation withdrew their tender on 1 December 2025. Therefore, the bids have been re-evaluated.

09/12/2025 - Imposition of Speed Limits within Melton Mowbray ref: 15943    Recommendations Approved

Following the construction of the A606 North and East Melton Mowbray Distributor Road (NEMMDR), new Speed Limits were proposed with the aim of enhancing road safety on the NEMMDR and its connecting roads.

To impose the following speed limits within Melton Mowbray:
30mph Speed Limit on Melton Spinney Road in part.
Restricted Road (30mph by virtue of Streetlighting) on Burton Road to correct a Traffic Regulation Order anomaly.
40mph Speed Limit on A606 NEMMDR, St Bartholomew’s Way, Nottingham Road, Scalford Road, Melton Spinney Road, A607 Thorpe Road, A607 Waltham Road, Burton Road and A606 Burton Road.
50mph Speed Limit on A606 Nottingham Road, Scalford Road, Saxby Road and B676 Saxby Road.

09/12/2025 - Extension of the existing 7.5 ton Weight Restriction within Melton Mowbray ref: 15942    Recommendations Approved

Following the construction of the A606 North and East Melton Mowbray Distributor Road (NEMMDR) and the subsequent declassification of Nottingham Road, Saxby Road, Thorpe End, Sherrard Street, Leicester Street, Burton Street and Burton Road, Melton Mowbray from ‘A’ and ‘B’ Class roads, the existing 7.5 ton Weight Restriction was to be extended to improve road safety and public amenity and to reduce the number of HGV’s travelling through Melton town centre.

The Council required a specialist contractor to provide surface dressing binder, spray tankers and storage tankers for the 2026 surface dressing season.

13/11/2025 - Implementation of No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions on Hinckley Road, Burbage Road and Sapcote Road, Burbage ref: 15939    Recommendations Approved

Following the construction of the Tolgate Works development (planning application 21/01018/FUL), the proposed No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions sought to mitigate the impact of potentially obstructive on-street parking on Hinckley Road, Burbage Road and Sapcote Road.
No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions were proposed around the traffic island and junctions for the safety of all road users.

The Speed Limit Reduction Order was proposed as a wider road safety scheme in the vicinity of One Ash roundabout, Quorn to improve road safety.

The extension of existing National Speed Limit and a reduction to 40mph Speed Limit on the A6, Quorn/ Mountsorrel Bypass approaching One Ash Roundabout Quorn.
On Loughborough Road, Quorn, the revocation of the existing 50mph Speed Limit and imposition of a 40mph Speed Limit.
On A6004 Terry Yardley Way, Quorn and Loughborough, the revocation of the existing 50mph Speed Limit and the imposition of a 40mph Speed Limit.
