My main concerns are:-
· completion of the Crescent Project
· more facilities for the Hollycroft estate area
· speeding and safety issues on Coventry Road
· protecting the remaining green areas
· safety issues on the notorious A5 including tackling the low railway bridge
· improvements to the parks in the division
· community safety issues throughout the area
· the success of the new cinema
· enhancing Argents Mead.
· pressing for the retention of stretches of open water in the Hinckley urban area
· protection of local health services and encouraging healthier lifestyles
· excessive speeding on all our roads.
· tackling flooding issues and the need for renewal of drains
· better engagement between the community and the health authorities
· improved transport to hospitals and health centres
· pressing for adoption of roads, sewers and open spaces on Waterside Park
· support for the built and natural heritage of the town and area
· bringing the Station Road Post Office back into suitable use
· re-opening post office facilities in Clifton Way
· improved joint working between County and District Councils
· introduction of a public transport exchange at the railway station
· co-operation between everyone involved to offset the impact of Government cuts
· maintenance of the bus network in the area
· support for the Hinckley and North Warwickshire College
· support for the Centre for Young People
· support for the retention of the Westfield Community Centre
· trying to safeguard public services in the current very difficult financial conditions
· supporting all moves to encourage people into employment
· retention of the childrens' and maternity services at the George Eliot Hospital
· monitoring pedestrian safety over the Nutts Lane Canal bridge
· monitoring the effect on children's education with the transfer to academy status
· support of measures to alleviate parking congestion
· support for the retention of Police Community Support Officers
· montioring the impact of the new cycleway network
· pressing for the relief of congestion at the A5 & NPR junctions
· pressing for the retention of street lighting
· support for the regeneration of Coventry and Warwickshire
· support for the regeneration of Leicester and Leicestershire
· support for greater co-operation between East and West Midlands
· support for all the emergency services serving Hinckley
· support for improving traffic flow through the town and the major junctions in particular
· appropriate re-use of the Co-Op
