Personal information

I was elected to the County in May 2009 and Charnwood in 2007 and I have been a Shepshed Town Councillor since 1987.

I am a Widow, Mum and Grandmother.  I enjoy gardening and travelling and I am active in the Community.  I sit on the Volunteer Bureau in Shepshed, Town Team, Glenmore Community Centre and Chairman of the Shepshed Special Community Bus.

Part of my portfolio at County is that I am the Councillor Representative on HS2, when my husband was alive we did a lot of train holidays I am finding it very interesting, this is not saying I am fully behind the project, but it is coming so we need to get the best out of it for Leicestershire and its residents.

I am Chairman of The Children in Care Panel, we have a number of ongoing panels at County which can delve deeper into issues which we do not have time for at Scrutiny.  The Children in Care Panel visits children’s homes and social service departments around Leicestershire.

I work and support the residents of Shepshed who raise issues no matter how small not just the big issues as these are just as important as the large headline grabbing issues.
