Purpose:

All County roads that were assigned the national speed limit had been reviewed to identify those with an accident rate that was higher than the national average. The A444 from Twycross to Atterton had been identified to have a total number of accidents above the national average.

Decision:

To implement the 50mph Speed Limit on A444.

Other reasons / organisations consulted

The consultation was carried out for a period of three weeks between 12 May 2023 and 2 June 2023. It was advertised in the local press, and on the County Council’s website. All statutory consultees were contacted, and no objections were received. Mr B. Harrison-Rushton CC was in support of the scheme.
