Purpose:

The crossing formed part of a Section 278 Highway Improvement Scheme in Hinckley. The Toucan Crossing was required to improve pedestrian and cycle access to a new residential development for Bloors Homes.

Decision:

To implement the Proposed Toucan Crossing on Normandy Way, Hinckley, to be constructed by the developer Bloor Homes.

Other reasons / organisations consulted

The statutory consultation was carried out by the Council on the developer’s behalf for a period of three weeks between 19 February 2025 and12 March 2025. It was advertised in the local press, and on the County Council’s website. All statutory consultees were contacted, and no objections were received. Mr D. Bill CC was in support of the scheme.
