Purpose:

The proposed restrictions were an extension to the existing Red Route, No Stopping at Any Time restriction on from A453 Walton Hill to Hill Top, Castle Donington and sought to mitigate the impact of potentially obstructive on-street parking at and across the historic reinstated access way which will benefit the safety for all road users in this location.

Other reasons / organisations consulted

The consultation was carried out for a period of three weeks between 19 March 2025 and 9 April 2025. Statutory Consultees were consulted including the Police, North West Leicestershire District Council and the Fire and Rescue Service. No objections were received. The Local Members Mr T. Pendleton and Mr T. Parton supported the scheme.
