Healthy Leicestershire Digital Solution

Decision Maker: Director of Public Health, Law and Governance

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Is Key decision?: No

Is subject to call in?: No

Purpose:

Creation of Healthy Leicestershire will make it easier for our residents to access and engage with Public Health information and services, supporting positive behaviour change. It will also likely lead to reduced digital costs in the future by consolidation of current provision, whilst also freeing up staff resources by having fewer digital services to update and manage.

Decision:

To begin a procurement exercise to develop and deliver digital solutions for Public Health. The new solutions will consolidate existing online presence into one accessible and engaging ‘Healthy Leicestershire’ website and app. The spend for this procurement will exceed £500k over the life of the proposed contract.

Equalities and Human Rights Implications: The website will adhere to accessibility standards. Audience engagement and user testing is factored into the tender, ensuring the new solutions are co-produced by those who will be using them.
