Approaching Nanpantan crossroads on Nanpantan Road, Loughborough, the Speed Limit changes from 50mph to the National Speed Limit and then 40mph at the crossroads. To provide continuity, it was proposed that the National Speed Limit be reduced to 50mph.

The essential consultees were consulted on the proposals. The proposals were also advertised in the Loughborough Echo from 15th December 2026. The consultation lasted for four weeks due to the Christmas break.
The proposals were also posted on the County Council’s consultation web page.
A total of one comment about reducing the Speed Limit further was received. No objections were raised.
The local members Mr R. Bailey CC and Mr J. Boam CC did not raise any objections to the proposals.
