The proposed restrictions were to act as junction protection to mitigate the impact of potentially obstructive parking on and around the junction, hindering access to refuse lorries and resulting in multiple missed bin collections.
The proposed restrictions would assist in ensuring the safe passage of refuse vehicles and emergency service vehicles, and to benefit the safety for all road users in this location.
This scheme was proposed on the grounds of road safety.
To implement No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions on Copson Street, an its junction with Curzon Street, Ibstock.

The consultation was carried out for a period of three weeks between 28th November 2025 and 19th December 2025. The statutory consultees were consulted including the Police, North West Leicestershire District Council and the Fire and Rescue Service.
No objections were received.
The local Member Mr V. Richichi CC supported the scheme.
