The scheme was developed following a request from the local Member on behalf of Ullesthorpe Parish Council and forms part of a wider package of mitigation works associated with the Magna Park development to improve road safety.
Traffic speed surveys that were undertaken over a week- long period 24 February to 3 March 2025 indicated that the mean vehicle speeds at a number of locations are consistent with the thresholds set out in the Department for Transport guidance for a Signed-only 20mph Speed Limit.
The 50mph Speed Limit will provide a consistent approach speed between Claybrooke Parva and Ullesthorpe and ensure an appropriate transition into the 20mph Speed Limit when entering Ullesthorpe.
To implement the 20mph Speed Limit in Ullesthorpe and 50mph Speed Limit in Claybrooke Parva and Ullesthorpe, with the Partial Revocation and Correction of an Existing 50mph Traffic Regulation Order on Lutterworth Road, Ullesthorpe.
