Purpose:

The County Council proposed a new Toucan Crossing on Desford Lane on behalf of a developer. Following the construction of the housing development along Desford Lane, Ratby, the Toucan Crossing provides connectivity for both pedestrians and cyclists from the new development to the Medical Centre and Ratby village centre.

Decision:

To implement a Toucan Crossing on Desford Lane, Ratby.

The statutory consultation was carried out for a period of three weeks between 13 April 2026 and 4 May 2026.
It was advertised in the local press, the County Council’s website, and site notices were placed at the proposed crossing location. All statutory consultees were contacted, and no objections were received. The Local Member Mr O. O’Shea CC supported the scheme.
