The restrictions are to enable the enforcement against footway parking to keep the crossing clear of obstructions.
To enhance road safety, No Waiting At Any Time restrictions were required on the junctions of Side Ley, Kegworth. The affected locations include Frederick Avenue at its junction with Side Ley, Borrowell at its junction with Side Ley and Nottingham Road at its junctions with Side Ley and Station Road. These measures provide essential junction protection, prevent obstructive parking and ensure the safer passage for all road users.
The Nottingham Road bus stop will become a clearway to prevent obstructive parking and ensure safe passenger access. This scheme is being introduced specifically to enhance road safety for all users.
To implement No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions on Side Ley at the junctions with Borrowell, Frederick Avenue, Nottingham Road and Station Road, Kegworth.

A formal consultation was undertaken for this scheme. The consultation was carried out for a period of three weeks between 13 February 2026 - 6 March 2026. The statutory consultees were consulted including the Police, North West Leicestershire District Council and the Fire and Rescue Service. One objection was received. The Local Member Mr C. Pugsley CC supported the scheme.
