The scheme was proposed to keep the junction of Watermead Lane and Nanpantan Road, Loughborough, clear of parked vehicles to maintain visibility at the junction.

To implement No Waiting At Any Time restrictions on the junction of Watermead Lane and Nanpantan Road, Loughborough.

The scheme was advertised and formally consulted upon from Wednesday 11 February to Wednesday 4 March 2026, a period of three weeks. The essential consultees and local residents received notification. Notices were posted on site and the proposals were posted on the Council's consultation web page.
Four respondents wrote in supporting the scheme. This included comments that there was a nursery at the end of the Watermead Lane with its own parking, but that people chose to park on Watermead Lane causing congestion. The respondents would have liked No Waiting At Any Time restrictions along all of Watermead Lane. However, the No Waiting At Any Time restrictions were aimed at improving sight lines, making it safer to pull out of the junctions. Leaving some of of Watermead Lane unrestricted would allow visitors to park close to nearby properties.
The local Member Mr R. Bailey CC supported the proposals.
