Decision details

It was necessary to protect access and prevent obstruction in the interests of road safety as part of the Lutterworth Public Realm scheme.
The decision also takes into account representations received during the statutory consultation and subsequent revisions made to ensure the proposals are suitable for the locations.

To implement No Waiting At Any Time Restrictions, Disabled Parking, Limited Waiting Restrictions and Loading Only Restrictions at various locations in Lutterworth

Following the consideration of objections and representations received, the proposals were revised to reduce their extent, particularly at Station Road and at Woodbine Crescent, Baker Street and Church Gate to address access and parking requirements.
These changes ensure that the restrictions focus on junction protection and maintaining access, whilst seeking to minimise the impact on residential parking.

The statutory consultation was carried out between 30th
October 2025 and 20th November 2025.
It was advertised in the local press and published on the Leicestershire County Council’s website. All statutory consultees and affected frontages were contacted as part of the consultation process.
A total of 11 responses were received, including objections, neutral comments, and a petition relating to Woodbine Crescent, Baker Street and Church Gate.
All of the representations were considered, and the scheme was subsequently revised.
At Station Road, the proposed Limited Waiting Restrictions were revised and existing No Waiting at Any Time restrictions retained to protect access.
At Woodbine Crescent and Baker Street, the No Waiting At Any Time restrictions were reduced to junction protection and to prevent obstruction of pedestrian dropped kerbs.
The proposals for High Street, Rugby Road and Church Street remained unchanged.
The revised scheme was shared with all respondents who had raised concerns, and they were provided with the opportunity to submit further comments or withdraw their objections. Two additional representations were received.
The local Member Mrs R. Page CC supported the recommendation to implement the revised scheme.
