Issue - meetings

The Cabinet considered a report of the Director of Corporate Resources concerning the provisional revenue and capital outturn for 2016/17 and sought the Cabinet’s approval for additional commitments and carry forwards.  A copy of the report, marked ‘4’, is filed with these minutes.

Mr. Rhodes CC said that the County Council had made significant progress in achieving required savings during the past year, some of which had been delivered early, and that investment in capital projects had continued, although such funding would likely reduce in future years as financial pressures increased. 

RESOLVED:

(a)       That the 2016/17 provisional revenue and capital outturn be noted;

(b)       That the additional commitments set out in paragraph 54 of the report and the carry forward requests detailed in Appendix B, be approved;

(c)       That the revisions to the 2017/18 budget, as set out in paragraph 55, be approved;

(d)       That the prudential indicators for 2016/17, as shown in Appendix F, be noted.

REASON FOR DECISION:

To inform the Cabinet of the provisional revenue and capital outturn for 2016/17, to set aside funding for additional commitments, to approve carry forwards into later years and to make revisions to the 2017/18 revenue budget.
