The minutes of the meeting held on 24 August 2004 were taken as read, confirmed and signed.

The Chief Executive reported that no questions had been received under Standing Order 36.

Declarations of Interest.

Minutes:

No declarations of interest were made.

 

54.

Review and Revision of the Constitution.

Minutes:

The Committee considered a report of the Chief Executive recommending changes to the County Council’s Constitution in light of experience.  A copy of the report marked ‘B’ is filed with these minutes.

 

The Committee’s attention was drawn to an error in Appendix A to the report.  Members were asked to substitute the words “Communications Strategy” for “Community Strategy” on the first page of that document.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the County Council be recommended to approve the proposed changes to the Constitution as set out in Appendix A to the report, as now reported.

Periodic Electoral Review of Leicestershire County Council. pdf icon PDF 16 KB

Minutes:

The Committee considered a report of the Chief Executive on the Final Recommendations of the Boundary Committee in relation to the Periodic Electoral Review of Leicestershire County Council.  A copy of the report marked ‘C’ is filed with these minutes.

 

The Committee was reminded that all members of the County Council had been invited to submit comments which the Committee could take into account.  Comments had been received from Mr. Brown, Mrs. Pullen and Mrs. Sherwin.  In addition Braunstone Town Council had written regarding the proposed ward names and Parish Council changes affecting that Authority.  Copies of these comments are filed with these minutes.

 

RESOLVED:

 

That the Final Recommendations of the Boundary Committee in relation to the periodic electoral review of Leicestershire County Council be noted.
