06/02/2025 - Implementation of a 50mph Speed Limit on the A444 ref: 15684    Recommendations Approved

All County roads that were assigned the national speed limit had been reviewed to identify those with an accident rate that was higher than the national average. The A444 from Twycross to Atterton had been identified to have a total number of accidents above the national average.

05/02/2025 - 20mph speed limit on the following roads: Lutterworth Road, Gibbet Lane, Main Street, Bullaces Lane, Catthorpe Road and Swinford Road in the village of Shawell ref: 15683    Recommendations Approved

Shawell Parish Council requested that the speed limit through the village was reduced from 30mph to 20mph.
The County Council carried out speed surveys in Shawell and the data collected demonstrated that the speeds were conducive to a 20mph speed limit.

The County Council was undertaking works on behalf of North West Leicestershire District Council to improve the public realm at Marlborough Square, Coalville.

No Waiting At Any Time / No Loading At Any Time restrictions on Jackson Street and Marlborough Square.
A Taxi bay with No Stopping Except Taxis on the southern section of Marlborough Square.
Limited Waiting of 30 mins no return within 1 hour 8am - 6pm on Jackson Street.
Disabled badge holders only Monday-Saturday 8am – 6pm 3 hours no return within 1 hour on Jackson Street.
A Bus Stand Clearway on Jackson Street no stopping 6am – 8pm except buses.
A Bus Stop Clearway on Belvoir Road with no stopping except buses.

The County Council had chosen to review the existing parking provision due to the number of concerns raised by members of the public and businesses regarding the availability of parking in Hinckley Town Centre.

The Peugeot Boxer L3 Crew Cab Tipper were the preferred chassis and body converted by TGS based on a whole life cost modelling assessment.
